Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Pakpattan chapter) organized its Workers Convention as part of MQI’s campaign for raising public awareness. Amir of MQI Punjab Ahmad Nawaz Anjum presided over the Convention while distinguished participants included Ch Riasiat Ali, Rafique Saddiqi, Rana Manzoor Ali, Sheikh Ashraf Haideri, Sanaullah Sukhera, Rana Ghulam Mustafa, Raheel Baber, Dr Rafique Yasir, Rana Shakeel and others.
The proceedings of the Convention got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Naat. When the central leaders entered the venue, the excitement of the workers was worth watching. They rolled out a red carpet welcome to the leaders on their arrival. The workers were carrying placards in their hands with anti-system slogans written on them. They were also carrying Pakistani flags and that of PAT as well.
Addressing the Convention, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum congratulated different forums of MQI on successful arrangement of the programme. He said that the incumbent electoral system was the biggest enemy of the people. He said that even if hundred elections were held under the present system, it would not be able to lead to any kind of improvement or change. If the nation wanted to change its fate and come out of challenges presently bedeviling it, it would have to extend unflinching support to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, he added.
Ahmad Nawaz Anjum said that workers of MQI and people of the country at large would extend historic reception to Shaykh-ul-Islam on his arrival in Pakistan on November 4. The sight of two million people would send a very strong message to the pro-status quo forces that the masses were opposed to the electoral system. He said that we would have to make sure that no other leader got such a reception in Pakistan and the entire nation was with Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He also briefed the workers about Zakat and Itikaf.
Rafique Saddiqi, Ch Riasiat, Rana Manzoor and others also spoke on the occasion. Hundreds of workers of all forums of MQI from Pakpattan, Noorpur, Arifwala and other adjoining areas attended the Convention. After the conclusion of the programme, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum inaugurated various offices of MQI in different areas. The central delegation also visited the shrine of renowned Sufi Saint Baba Ghulam Farid Gunj Shakr and laid a floral wreath on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
